Perlego offers a unique offering to German publishers to increase revenue from their e-books while providing a better user experience for students and professionals who have access to the content they need at lower cost.<\/p>\n<p>Perlego offers publishers a state-of-the-art platform that enables publishers to generate revenue based on user activity rather than a one-time purchase. Similar to mainstream subscription models, users get unlimited access to digital content. Perlego&#8217;s innovative payment model is the first of its kind on the German market; for the first time, publishers receive revenue when part of their content is read by users.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;People expect to have everything at their fingertips &#8211; business people and students alike. Perlego has brought the streaming subscription model for academics into the book industry,&#8221; says Thorsten Schreiber, CEO of Libreka. &#8220;This model allows readers to access a wider range of books, creating additional opportunities for digital publishers to generate revenue when accessing their books, even for a short reading&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Having achieved significant acceptance in the UK since its inception, our goal for 2019 is to expand into strategic markets across Europe,&#8221; said Matthew Jones, Vice President of Content Acquisiton &#038; Strategy at Perlego. &#8220;Working with the Libreka team will enable us to rapidly build our German content collection so that we can start in the fourth quarter of 2019 with a wide reach of e-book titles.
